ISSUE #2 - White Whale has been on fire this week, literally!

Welcome to another exciting edition of The CosmWasm Dev Digest! 🎉

This week has been crazy in the Cosmos, full of releases and developments! Can’t wait to see everything announced and discussed in AwesomWasm, we’ll need to wait for next week’s edition to see more about that.

Here’s what happened last week:

🚀 Releases

• White Whale DEX release on Migaloo. This makes the White Whale protocol to be in 6 chains: Migaloo, Terra, Juno, Injective, Chihuahua and Comdex. Check it out here.

• The White Whale community released The Furnace, a gamified token burning application on Migaloo. Check it out here

• Racoon is releasing bet games on Migaloo, and they have an interesting game competition. The top 3 users who losses the most will be reimbursed by the White Whale team 😁. Don’t go full degen on this one. More details here.

• USDT integration into the cosmos live via Kava 🔥. This is massive win for the Cosmos ecosystem, likely to bring in new liquidity into the Cosmos. Check out the announcement here.

💻 Development

• Wormhole is coming to the Cosmos ecosystem with 4X the TVL of Axelar. Stay tuned for exciting updates 👀. Read more here.

• White Whale offers Frontend bounties! If you have frontend skills, help squash White Whale’s frontend bugs and get handsomely rewarded! Also, if you can make White Whale’s FE mobile friendly, go build it and get rewarded. Join WW’s community calls on Thursdays at 15:00 UTC, they are alpha packed! 🐳

• Quasar app (macOS only) makes it possible to run a Celestia light node with no CLI expertise with just 2 clicks. Get started here.

• CosmWasm is going beyond the Cosmos to the Polkadot ecosystem on Picasso. Read more here.

• Secret Network dapp pitches in Twitter spaces. Very interesting applications only possible when privacy is enforced by default!

• Hyperlane is coming to Cosmos! In collaboration with StrangeLove, they are building a Hyperlane Cosmos SDK module, with the goal of extending Cosmos beyond just IBC-connected chains 🌟. Read more here.

• Terra Expansion Grant. TFL is seeking a grant for continue developing tools and protocols on the Terra blockchain and beyond. Join the discussion.

• Osmosis v16 Magnesium upgrade is here, bringing new exciting features such as concentrated liquidity and programmable pools, similar to what we see on Uniswap V4. Check it out.

🤝 Partnerships

• White Whale announces the SAIL program. SAIL will provide ecosystems with access to essential applications, communities, and liquidity to jumpstart their hyper-growth. Find more details here.

• Axelar and Microsoft partnership for better integration of Web3 & traditional internet systems. The partnership will explore ways public blockchains can can help secure trust and speed integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in mainstream use cases. Read the announcement here.

• Oak Security Capture The Flag ⛳️ - AwesomWasm Online Event. Practice your CosmWasm security skills with a series of challenges! The event ends on July 17th, so you have 4 days to smash those contracts. More about it here. Join the Telegram group if you have any questions.

• StreamSwap event for the MPWR token. MPWR is the token of EmpowerChain, a dedicated Layer 1 chain for the CircularEconomy, empowering a global network of waste collectors and recyclers. More details about the StreamSwap event here.

• Whale token burn competition. The top 3 addresses that burn the most whale on the furnace will get their tokens reimbursed. Details about the event here.

🔭 Beyond Cosmos

• Stargate Deployment incoming! Stargate is a L0 protocol allowing to transfer stablecoins among blockchains with ease. This opens new income streams into the cosmos 🤑. Read more here.

• pSTAKE Finance introduced stkETH, a solution that scales ETH liquid staking & #LSTfi on L2s sustainably. Exciting development for liquid staking tokens! Learn more here.

• Lava Network introduces the alpha version of the Lava SDK. It allows any developer to access over +20 networks, with high reliability and no reliance on a single portal. Check their article here.

🛠️ Tools

• Zed, a blazing fast Rust-based IDE with support for Github Copilot and GPT3.5/4 out of the box and code sharing capabilities. Even though I am an IntelliJ user I’ll give this one a shot. Thanks ivmidable for the tip.

• Multisig app compatible with all cosmos chains, including tgrade. Thanks Confio!
